My new house in Kaliyuga…. …was once a divine place in Tretayuga…

Suspend all your disbelief for a moment……and read on…..

Recently, we shifted our quarters. In fact, it was some 40 days back.

The new Quarters is situated in Block-5 near the Pre-casting yard and somewhere behind the Ayyappa Temple, Block-4, Neyveli.

When we shifted our Quarters, there were heavy rains due to the Nivar Cyclone. At our new Quarters, we had constructed an additional room by the side of the main house. Due to the heavy rains, there was considerable water seepage along the walls. And at one place in the roof of the shed, drops of water were dripping, to add to our woes. Initially we thought it was due to the rains. After some 4 to 5 days, the rain stopped. But the drops of water continued to drip….

We again thought it was due to some water that remained stagnated up above somewhere. Another 5 to 10 days passed and the drops of water continued to drip…..Remember, there was absolutely no rain and there was no water at all anywhere on the roof. Weird.

Another 4 to 5 days passed. Drops of water continued to drip. Drip…drip…drip…it continued. It was bizarre. We called the mason and told him about it. He climbed up and saw there was absolutely no water anywhere and again, no signs of even a drop of water anywhere. There was the water tank but there was not a drop of water around the water tank too and no signs of any leakage or seepage. The mason was puzzled, scratched his head and went away.

He later switched off his phone.

Sometime in the daytime the dripping would stop and we would be happy and congratulate each other. But after a few hours, there it would go…drip…drip…drip…

We were totally bewildered. What was happening?

After a few days, one afternoon, I was sitting in an easy chair, in the shed, eyes closed, listening to this drop of water dripping…….drip drip drip…..and I slowly slowly slowly drifted off to sleep….a relaxed sleep….a deep sleep probably…….

Treta Yugam.

Lord Rama is distraught, but slowly gaining composure. Sita Devi has been kidnapped by Ravana, the King of Lanka. Lord Rama and Lakshmana have traversed a great distance from Panchavati, in search of Sita. They have found Jatayu, the divine bird who was lying wounded after a valiant fight with Ravana.

Jatayu had tried to come to Sita’s rescue. However, Ravana slayed the Jatayu’s wings and he had fallen to the ground. Ram and Lakshman found the now-dying demi-God who was lying on the ground. It was Jatayu who told Ram that it was Ravana who had abducted Sita and it was Lanka where Ram would find his Sita. But alas, Jatayu could not be saved, as he was now breathing his last. In order to thank Jatayu for his brave efforts and for imparting the precious bit of information about Sita’s abduction – Ram, with his divine powers uttered the words ‘Le Pakshi’ which in telugu means – ‘Rise, Bird’. (There is an actual place in Andhra Pradesh called ‘Lepakshi’, which is reportedly the place where Jatayu fell.)

Armed with this information, Lord Rama and Lakshman have started their journey to Lanka and reached Kishkintha. There they have met Sugriva and of course, Hanuman and after the adventures of Lord Hanuman who discovered Sita at Lanka, with the vanara army, they are marching towards Rameswaram to cross over to Lanka.

Here, read carefully.

Lord Rama and Lakshmana have made steady progress since the kidnap of Sita Devi and have walked a distance of nearly 1500 kilometers from Panchavati along with the Vanaras.

They reach a place full of cashew and mango groves which is at a Latitude of 11.612570 and Longitude of 79.482440. As evening falls, they decide to stay there for the night. After having some fruits, Lord Rama feels thirsty. Lakshmana goes about here and there in search of some water but finds no source. He feels vexed. He takes his bow and aims his arrow on the ground. The arrow is so powerful that two things happen.

One, the mighty arrow creates a terrible fire spreading all around and burning down thousands of trees. Two, a strong fountain of water springs forth. Lakshmana is delighted at this. He collects the water and gives it to Lord Rama. When Lord Rama sees that so many trees got burnt, He is distressed. He goes around and looks at the burnt down trees. He tells Lakshmana, “You have destroyed several trees by your fiery arrow. To atone for this, I bless this place with lot of prosperity and affluence and replacement of these trees with many many more in the future.” He drinks the water and sprinkles some water around and in the air. One drop of water goes high and lands on a neem tree nearby which has miraculously escaped the fire. Lord Rama observes this with a smile and moves on…..

That drop amazingly manifests itself and falls, down to the ground, drop after drop – Drip…drip….drip….drip..drip….plop…plop…plop…..

I am shaken in my sleep and wake up with a start…..

I rub my eyes and see the drops of water…drip…drip…drip…..continuing to fall in Kaliyuga…

I gaze at the drops of water…..as Google tells me….

Neyveli is at a Latitude of 11.612570 and Longitude of 79.482440…!

I recall reading somewhere…. “Lignite is a dark brown to black combustible mineral formed over millions of years by the partial decomposition of plant material subject to increased pressure and temperature in an airless atmosphere.”

Neyveli area is full of Lignite deposits due to decomposition of plants and trees in large number…after the mighty act of Lakshmana…?!!!

Neyveli is full of water and greenery today in this yuga…after the blessing of Lord Rama…?!!!

And wait…..

There is a huge neem tree behind my new house with a branch stretching above the shed…!!! The drop on the neem tree…. Manifesting into drop after drop after drop……..!!! Oh My God. This is crazy…..

I am living in a Divyakshetra, a township called Neyveli, blessed by the Gods…and my house in Kaliyuga is located at a place where Lord Rama stayed in Tretayuga….

I immediately checked on Google which tells me…Lord Rama and Lord Lakshmana visited Vaitheeswaran Koil on their way to Rameswaram….and performed the last rites of Jatayu there too…Vaitheeswaran Koil is just 60 kilometers away from this blessed place Neyveli…..

Oh My God!!!

Neyveli is a land blessed by Gods.

If you spread this story far and wide, my new house will become a landmark in no time…

And friends, the drop of water continues to fall at regular intervals defying all the syllabus of modern Civil Engineering…
